hi friends!! if you've gotten this far i thank you for reading this.colt is highly canon divergent from the series and perhaps the movie, (at the time of writing this it hasn't come out yet, though i love a goofy guy getting himself into action movie situations and that's what the movie trailer seems like so far). i think the bounty hunting profession is kind of weird and much prefer to write him as an investigator. a lot of his personality will be based on what vibes i've gotten from the trailer and the bits and pieces that i like from the tv series. his backstory will be completely my own.

  special skills :  horseback riding, stick-shift driving, stage combat, fight choreography, high falls, being set on fire, low-level gymnastics, wire work.you grow up on a small farm on the outskirts of helena, montana with not much to your name beyond land and animals. horses are fast friends of yours, the gentle creatures responding well to your quiet nature and propensity for sneaking them extra carrots and oats. it's easy to want to spend time with them, especially considering the natural tension that fills the house on a constant basis. the farm is failing, and everyone knows it. you're lucky that your uncle takes pity on your father and helps with the house payments during this time (let's be real — although they were brothers, they'd never been particularly close).not that you'd know anything about that— you're an only child through and through, your mother swearing up and down that once was more than enough for her, thank you very much. you don't think you'd have much time for siblings anyways, considering that as soon as you're old enough to swing onto a horse, you're competing in rodeos. despite the variety of events you stick just to bareback riding— anything else seems too cruel, and your tender heart can barely stand to watch the other animals be roped down, much less do it yourself.riding leads to other sports but nothing really lasts, especially as the farm falls further and further apart, taking your parents marriage along with it. at twelve years old they sit you down to tell you that, although they'll always love each other very much the time had come for them to separate. it's not much of a shock, so you're not that disheartened about the matter— until you and your father move in with that same uncle from before and his family, driving all the way down to salt lake city and worrying about the horses you'd left behind.you only see your mother on certain holidays and your birthday during that year, and then you don't see her again after that. you never asked why, and your father never volunteered the information himself. instead of throwing yourself into studies you decide to give sports a try once again— namely gymnastics (for the same thrill as horse riding) and wrestling (for the pent up anger that seemed to fester like an open wound inside you). when you hit your growth spurt at sixteen your peers become much more friendly, although this means that you have to leave gymnastics behind.

with real companions to talk to now high school passes in a blur, and it isn't long until you and your father are arguing the night before graduation about your plans for the future. or rather, a lack of plans for the future. nothing really suited your interests, and you certainly didn't want to try and follow in your father's footsteps. it's a heated argument, and at the end of it you impulsively decide to scoop up all your belongings and head west without looking back.it's a familiar situation. you live out of your car in los angeles. besides it, a duffel bag full of clothes and the few items you couldn't bear to leave behind you have nothing. times are tough the first two years, bouncing through part time jobs and acting gigs where you can get them (they're all tiny bit parts and commercials that pay just enough for the gas in your car and food to eat). you befriend crew members to keep getting jobs, and eventually hear about a new opportunity— working as a stunt double for a big star in his next movie. from there, the rest is history.with a natural athleticism and an eager willingness to learn you slowly make your way up the stunt ladder until you're the first guy they call. the jobs are fewer at this level but the pay is good enough that you can start saving for an apartment, and eventually a fixer-upper house on the outskirts of town. sure, nobody outside of the industry knows your name, but has that ever really mattered to you? truthfully, it does a little, but that's just because in your eagerness to buy a house, you forget what it takes to keep a house. (it's a rookie mistake, and you can only tell yourself how disappointed your mother would be if she knew. if she cared.)either way you're still desperate for money, and a friend of a friend is desperate for some assistance. they're a director for a new blockbuster with one big problem — nobody can find the star anywhere. for a hefty price you offer to locate the man and get his ass to set before the producers notice he's gone. it's a tougher job than you expect but rather than accept defeat you start pulling in favors and calling contacts to get the job done. your lengthy resume actually works in your favor here, and after a long weekend of worry you have the actor back in his trailer.although it seemed like a one time deal you're soon getting calls across the industry— people who need help finding their clients, relatives, friends and lost loves. you're not sure why they keep calling but hey, you always wanted to stay busy between films anyways.

  main :  colt is a stuntman in hollywood who has worked on many big productions and is very talented at what he does. since the jobs are usually spread out he takes on cases on the side, usually to help find people.  pre-canon :   colt has recently started stunt work and is still a newbie in the profession. although he takes to the fight choreography without issue, he still has a long way to go before he's worth his salt. the faceclaim for this verse is  mike faist .  the rising star :   an au after about five years in the industry, colt responds to a casting call for a half-baked sequel to westworld and manages to land the lead role as a cowboy. the rest is history from there— the script is god-awful, but colt's charm and natural talent with the horses makes him a standout that has hollywood clamoring for more.
